Summer Trend #3: Gladiators!
The third trend of the week is the ever-popular gladiator sandals! This is one of those things that will probably forever be a trend during the spring-summer time. Gladiators are a nice blend between comfort and elegant. There are an infinite amount of designs that can be created and gladiators can be any length. Not only that, but they are super comfortable and easy to wear! They are also versatile, you could wear them while hanging out at the mall, going out to dinner, or going to a party. Although some may say that gladiators are a pretty awful trend, it seems like there are so many variations and styles that it could flatter pretty much everyone and they don't seem to be going anywhere soon!

Basic Gladiators!
Nordstrom
$79.90

These are pretty much a basic pair of gladiators, except they have the big polished stones in the center of the straps, surrounded by little beads. I think they're really classy looking and you could dress them up or dress them down. They also come in four colors: black, ice, bronze and pewter, which are all really beautiful colors. Overall, it's really pretty and stylish.

Gladiator Heels!
Forever 21
$29.80

If you wanted gladiators in heeled form, these are a great pair from Forever. They have the very edgy look going on with the studs all over the straps and center. They also have the three buckles on the side, which I think are a really nice touch. If you're going for a rocker look, these heels are perfect for you.

Boho Gladiators!
Steve Madden
$66.99

These are a more colorful and bohemian pair of gladiators from Steve Madden. There are colorful beads all over the sandals and they have the ankle straps style that many people are into these days. The colors are all very summery and turquoise is the number one color of the summer. Kim Basinger has also been spotted wearing these!

Metallic Gladiators!
Belks
$53.40

Metallics are great for a more elegant look and for going out in the evenings. They feature the super thin straps at the ankles and vamp. The color is just really pretty and sophisticated and would go with almost any other colors and would be a great addition to your summer shoe collection!

Splurge Gladiators!
Anthropologie
$139

These are super pricy, but I love how amazing they look! The sandals are a nice nude and the leather straps are covered with these sequins that aren't overdone to look tacky. Another great thing is the chunky ankle buckle, which are adjustable. You will definitely get complements for them.

Tips!
-Gladiators won't be flattering for everyone! Find the pair that's right for you.
-If you can, try it out in stores and only resort to online shopping when you KNOW it's the right size for you and you really want it.
-The prices I listed were only in certain stores, you can pretty much find these shoes at numerous department stores, online websites, and a variety of other places. Find the cheapest one!
-Gladiators are worth the investment. They will always be in style, are super versatile depending on the ones you buy and can be worn also be worn in spring!

5-a-days! - Summer Trends - Turqouise!

 Summer Trend #2: Turquoise!
The second trend of the week is turquoise! There is no doubt that turquoise is becoming the most popular color of summer '10. The color reflects the ocean, water, the beach and represents tranquility and coolness. The color is also a nice bright pop to shine in summer and not only that, but Pantone also called turquoise the color of the year! If that isn't a reason for turquoise to be a hot summer trend, I don't know what is. The five finds I chose today are all accessories, but don't forget there about clothes, shoes and makeup!

Turquoise Hat!
American Apparel
$20

If you're going for an artsy look, this is a really cute beret from American Apparel. It is 100% cotton, so it's light and won't make your head sweat unlike wool. You can match this with other cute accessories or bits of turquoise in your outfit and create a really chic outfit. Not only is it simple, but versatile and could be worn any time.
Turquoise Glasses!
Urban Outfitters
$10

This is a super cheap, stylish pair of sunglasses from UO. Most people don't have turquoise sunglasses, so these are a great pair to pick up. They have a flat top design and a asymmetrical leopard print on the top, which is a nice retro touch. This would be a great pair for the season and could be worn while out in the city with basically anything.

Turquoise Earrings!
Forever 21
$6.80

Here are a cheap pair of earrings from Forever! I love how sophisticated it looks with the turquoise beads creating that sunburst design with the silver chains dangling in loops on the bottom. They will certainly add a special and exotic touch to your outfit and could be worn if you have a more classy event to go to.

Turquoise Necklace!
American Eagle
$11.95

This is a double stranded necklace from AE that will give you that layered look for your outfit. The turquoise beads are accented with small pearl beads and glittery silver circles. It's a nice playful necklace to add to your outfit if you're just hanging out with some friends. Once
again, you can see how turquoise is such a nice color to add to your outfit and how it's the top color for summer!
Anthropologie
$58

This is a pricy bracelet from Anthropologie that has the cutest color palette I've seen in a bracelet. Not only does it have those summery turquoise bead strands, but it also has other semi-transparent hues. This is a great bracelet to wear if you don't really want the full turquoise treatment or if you still want to have the muted palette.

There you have it, some really amazing turquoise pieces that I found for today! I know I didn't do rings or bracelet, but if you want to see those, then just comment and I'll work on another part! I've also added links to go look at the pieces easier!

Update + 5-a-days! - Summer Trends - Rompers!

To start things off,
I want to apologize to people who actually visited this blog about my absence. I know I kind of straight up disappeared, but it was March-May, and I definitely had too many things going on to update this regularly. I don't know if you guys know how long it takes to go find items, upload it to photobucket, post it in here and then review it, style the post and all that fun stuff, but it really takes a while and I really want everything to look good. That was really taking up time that I needed to be doing other things, so I just stopped. HOWEVER! I am back! And I haven't forgotten about fashion at all. Actually, for those of you that don't know, me and my friend have been creating fashion/style videos on youtube. link! You can also see some in my previous posts. I'll definitely be posting videos on there that are more my style, so check it out! That's enough about that! Time to show you guys the 5-a-days! The theme I'm doing is a week of summer trends for 2010. So, everyday, I'll post five things on a certain trend that I find really appealing/stylish!

--
 Summer Trend #1: Rompers!
Basic Romper!
Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors Strapless - Romper Chambray
Target
$19.99

If you're looking for something basic to start out with, this is a really cute and simple one from Target! It comes in a simple blue and is made from 100% cotton. The romper is strapless and also has a sweetheart neckline. There's a pleated waist and there's also pockets. A basic romper if that's the look you're going for.

Printed Romper!
Abstract Printed Romper
Forever21
$15.80

If you're looking for a romper with a little color and print to it, this romper is a great choice. It's strapless and has a basic neckline. The purple/orange/white splashes are really bright and summery. There's also front pockets and a self-tie belt. It's a step up from a basic romper and will definitely stand out.

Sophisticated Romper!
Pompidou Romper
Anthropologie
$58

If you're willing to spend some cash on a nice romper, this is the one I chose! It has a vintage feel to it and has a beautiful bright print. There are also adjustable straps and a pleated sweetheart neckline. It's hard to see in this picture, but there's also a really cute ornate button around the belt and pockets. It's very sophisticated and looks high-end.

Classy Romper!
Lucca Couture New Safari Romper
Urban Outfitters
$58

Another nice romper you can splurge on is this stylish safari-styled romper from Urban. The button up top has a collar and short sleeves. A nice alternative if you don't want to show as much skin as the sleeveless ones. This is a great romper to wear if you're going out for the night with a blazer and oxfords and a long pair of layered necklaces.

Vintage Romper!

The Celebutante Romper in Wildflowers
ModCloth
$49.99
This last romper has a very vintage floral print that is very sophisticated and fashionable. There's spaghetti straps with a sweetheart neckline and navy buttons going down. The criss-cross cutout design in the back is adorable and adds something extra to the romper. An overall very summery romper with a muted color tone that will still make you stand out amongst the crowd. Pair it with some oxfords, a little hat and cardigan to
have a nice simple look.

Tips!
-Rompers will either be a hit or miss, depending on body type.
-They are generally made for tall and thin, BUT that doesn't mean anything. If you think you look good, then you do!
-There are some rompers made for people who are bigger, you can check Faith21 for one that I saw.
-TRY IT ON IN A STORE FIRST! That way, you can see how it looks. If you buy it online, chances are, it could look horrible on you or fit wrong.
-Rompers were made to be simple, don't over accessorize and go for a natural makeup look and easy-going hair.
-For shoes: go for oxford shoes or simple flats or sandals. Heels wouldn't work as well for rompers.
-Hats are a great accessory for rompers! Try out a straw hat or bowler hat to match your romper and get a cute vintage look.
-There are tons of different prints/styles/designs for rompers! Find the one that suits you and work it! :)
