Disclaimer!

This is a warning that I spend money. Don't be offended. Don't get upset. Don't comment and talk about what a horrible human being I am because I am telling you up front. I am not trying to brag about anything, I'm just showing you what I got because maybe you would like to get it too. I guess I should also address common misconceptions that people have about fashion bloggers/vloggers/etc and my response to them.

1. You spend so much money on pointless stuff!
False. I need clothes so that I'm not naked. Also, I rarely buy clothes anyways and when I do, it's usually on sale. The reason most people assume this is because whenever I do a haul, I show everything that I've bought over a period of a time, so it can seem a lot. To be honest, I probably spend the highest percent of my money on food.

2. It's not fair. You don't even do anything!
False. I'm in a top 20 university on the pre-med track majoring in biology and minoring in global health. I plan on going to med school and becoming a surgeon. When I'm not studying or in school, I volunteer and shadow. My life ISN'T fashion, but it is a big part of who I am.

3. Do you even have a job? You get all of your money from your parents!
Well, true. I don't have a job, but I'm getting my first job when I start back in the fall. I plan on either doing research in a lab or working at the hospital. My family never really had a need for me to get a job in high school, so I didn't. I also had (and still have) a pretty busy schedule, so it was (and still is) hard to manage everything, but I feel like I'm at a good age to start getting experience with working.

4. Your parents are rich!
False, but I won't say my parents are poor. My parents would probably be a little above middle class. My parents do nails, so they only make so much. The good thing is that they make enough to support themselves and me.

5. You're only trying to be famous!
False, not that I wouldn't enjoy being famous. Unlike most people, I don't plan on entering the fashion world so I really have no need to try to be famous in it. I just like it and I like sharing my opinions to others. So, have no fear, I will not be coming out with a fashion line, makeup line, perfume line, etc... anytime soon.

Those are the most common misconceptions that people have and I just wanted to clear that up. If you don't like that I spend money on things or if it makes you feel bad, then don't read those posts. I'm not trying to hate on anyone, but I don't like it when people make assumptions. I understand that the struggle is real for some people and that they might not exactly agree with the things I do and I understand, but don't knock me for that. So yeah, just wanted to post this so I can refer it to people when they comment about any of those things.

Out with the Old, In with the New! BLOG REVAMP!

I was having one of my usual meltdown while contemplating where my life was headed and I came to a shocking conclusion. Fashion no longer excited me as much as it used to. Before, I would spend hours watching fashion videos on YouTube, reading the latest Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, and browsing through blogs about the latest trends. Now, it's a miracle if I even have time to see what's stylish and what's not. This partly has to do with going to college, being busy with academics and trying to have a real social life. There's also the fact that I'm not planning on going into the fashion business. My love of fashion has transitioned into a love of medicine and science and I don't have any problem about that. While I was having this breakdown, I went shopping at TJ Maxx for a belt and as I went through all the belts trying to find the perfect one, I realized that I still do have somewhat of an interest in fashion, it just wasn't the same interest as I had before. Things change all the time, so why can't your interests? I looked at what I used to like and did before and what I like and do now. As much as women's fashion will always have a place in my heart, I've finally decided that since I won't be a designer, it just doesn't interest me as much anymore. My own personal style is also starting to evolve into something more edgy, grungy and hipster (even though I'll always have a versatile style and won't be boxed into one label). I'm becoming more interested in doing outfit of the days, men's fashion and styling posts and willing to actually put in effort and time. So this is my official blog revamp! So what can you expect to see?

The biggest difference will be that I won't focus primarily on fashion. I want to include personal life posts, advice, movie and music, and a variety of other things. For now, I think that fashion will be the main topic, but I'll try to incorporate other subjects, while trying not to primarily become a personal blog/celebrity gossip blog/music blog/etc....

In terms of fashion, I will (SADLY) focus less on women's fashion and more on men's fashion. Also, I want to do more posts about me, such as outfit of the days, how I style certain items, things I've bought, etc... In the past, I would talk a lot about things that I thought were fashionable to buy, but now, I want to focus on things I already have and this is how I use it. If that makes sense... I also think compared to the amount of fashion blog focused on women, that it would be be nice to have one focused on men. I also want to talk about beauty-related things because that's something I'm also interested in and I feel like that relates to fashion.

FINALLY, I wanted to say that I'm not doing this for an audience. I don't care if people read it or not and if I someone end up famous (highly unlinkely, but hey... it happens!), I really don't care. Of course, if that happens, I would think it's crazy awesome, but that's not the intent. The main reason I'm doing this is to be able to help others. I want people to read and see things that they might not have seen before, get new ideas and be able to do it realistically. I also think it'd be cool to go back to this blog ten years from now and see what I was like, how I wrote, what I looked like and what kind of person I was. Trust me, if you've never do that, I suggest you go to an old blog or MySpace and read. It's hilarious!

SO... that's my whole spiel. It was quite the post, but I've been meaning to do it for a while. I will begin to start making posts, but I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on!
